Apartamentos La Casa Del Grial

We spent three nights here to see Toledo and the surrounding area. The location is fantastic, right in the center, so we could explore on foot, and the nearby San Michele parking lot was convenient. Mrs. Camila was very kind and available by phone whenever we needed help. The apartment has two floors. Downstairs there's a bedroom with two single beds, a small bathroom under the stairs without a bidet, and a sink in the bedroom that only had cold water. Upstairs are the living room, kitchen, and double bedroom. That floor's bathroom is more spacious and comfortable, though it also has no bidet. Its window didn't close properly and stayed slightly open. The start of our stay was affected by the cold. We had told them when we'd arrive, but when we got there at midnight, tired from the trip, the apartment was completely cold. We struggled to warm it up and would have appreciated a warmer welcome at that time of year. There wasn't even a bottle of water in a welcome kit, so arriving late meant we had to drink tap water, which was drinkable but tasted unpleasant. There was a kettle, but no herbal teas. The apartment is ideal for the location and the host's kindness, but turning on the heating earlier, checking the windows, and leaving a small welcome kit would make the stay perfect.

The layout worked well overall, with the living room, kitchen, large bathroom, and main bedroom upstairs, and a second bedroom, sink, and bathroom below. The lower bathroom is awkward, though. Sitting on the toilet with the door shut feels cramped, and the shower is so small that even a slight movement switches the water off. The apartment is lovely and right by the Alcazaba and a paid parking garage. Our main bedroom issue was the very thin pillows; we had to use cushions from the living room to sleep, so extra pillows in the closet would help.

It was clean and well kept, and the location was great. Parking is only a few minutes away, though it costs extra. I’d stay here again if I’m back in the area.

The location was excellent and everything else was perfect. The only reason I’m taking off a star is that we had a bit of trouble with the keyring.
