For €35 in the VERY high season, this is a cheap hostel with basic rooms, no views, but they’re clean. It’s just what you need, without any fuss. There’s a really good restaurant next door. It’s highly recommended if you’re just passing through or don’t mind driving downtown and finding parking.

It’s about a 20-minute walk to the center. If you can, leave the car by the entrance, though there’s a small parking area across the road. Traffic goes by almost constantly during the day, but eases off at night, so you can rest peacefully. A good hostel overall.

I came back for a trip down memory lane. I worked on the Tomelloso hospital 20 years ago and stayed at this hostel, which was called Don Quijote then. It was a pleasure to return, and it still has a very clean feel, a low price, a really comfortable mattress, and excellent air conditioning.
