Hostal La Pared

The place looked awful. The hostal entrance is down a back alley and the door stays locked, so you have to go in through the bar, which looks nothing like the photos. The receptionist was a rude, uneducated woman.

The rooms were easily the worst part. We booked two, and both were badly neglected. There was a bad smell, mold on the walls in both the bedrooms and bathrooms, and the duvets had no covers. The wardrobe doors were badly fitted or coming loose from their hinges. The towels were damp and smelled bad, and the shower drain barely worked. You had to stop the water and wait for it to drain, or you’d be standing in a pool. The restaurant was decent, with tasty, generous portions, though there wasn’t much choice. Musicians played and sang for a while to entertain guests, but they were extremely loud. The bad outweighed the good by a lot. If the rooms are in that state, I don’t even want to imagine what the kitchen is like.

On 10/04/2025 we celebrated the baptism of our second child, our beautiful boy Raúl Daniel. The food was really good, the staff were wonderful, and the hotel was very clean and well kept. We felt at home. Many thanks to the waitresses and the chef, and to the fantastic decorators for the decorations and thoughtful details, as well as the excellent organization. Keep it up, and thank you so much.

I stay here a few times every year. It’s a simple, clean place, with a friendly welcome and good value for money.
