Apartamentos Marina Internacional

We had two balconies and a great view, and the apartment was nice and in a good location. The main promenade is a solid 10 minute walk away. Reception were very helpful with questions. Housekeeping only came once during the week, and the kitchen was quite small, though that was fine since we ate out. It was quiet when we visited in February. I'd recommend the sea view rooms.

The price was reasonable, especially in the off season, and the area felt safe with reception staffed 24 hours. One confusing point was the parking: the website says it's available, but it's not part of the room price. The marketing was a little misleading in both Spanish and English. To me, paying the full amount in advance should cover something described as included, rather than having to pay separately on arrival. A minor issue, though. The pool was still closed even though a sign said maintenance should have been finished 10 days earlier. I'd definitely consider returning.

We stayed for a week from 6/7/24 in room 811, a superior room that was really just functional. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were okay. I had emailed ahead to ask about a hairdryer because my hair is very long, and they said there was one, but there wasn't, even though we'd paid for a superior room. I didn't complain, and I did enjoy the stay. The pool was good, though it could get crowded, and teenagers playing football in it hit me in the face. It was a good stay overall, nobody bothered us, and I didn't seem to see any staff while we were there.

The pool area was generally dirty, with cigarette butts scattered around, and there weren't enough sun beds. When we first asked for a complaint form, they didn't provide one and told us to come back the next day. We also had trouble getting the room cleaned, and had to argue before it was done on the 6th day. At first we were told our room had water damage and were offered an apartment outside the hotel. It didn't have the two bedrooms we'd specifically chosen, so our 12-year-old daughter could have privacy and wouldn't have to go to bed when we did. Then, suddenly, we were told a room was available and accepted that instead. We don't know whether the other apartment was licensed for tourist rentals. We picked a hotel rather than a private apartment to be sure everything was legal and to support the local economy. There were other problems in the room: the toilet smelled, the living room shutter was broken and never fixed after we asked, so morning light came in early. The room had two double beds instead of one double and two twins as requested, and the kitchen shelves weren't firmly attached to the wall. Also, the building exit door is locked, which could be hazardous in a fire.
