Hostal Horta Rosell

Horta Rosell made for a great start to a really fun Saturday night in Tossa. A local recommended the place, and I'm glad we went. The food was really good, especially the frankfurter with pickles and friend onions. The wait staff were outgoing and clearly enjoying themselves, and they spoke great English. The live music was fun too.

The waiters seemed a bit rushed, though otherwise neutral, and the room floor felt somewhat dirty. I also found hairs in the bathroom. When we asked to change rooms, we ended up beside the street and woke at 2am to the trash truck. The noise kept us from sleeping. It was okay overall, but the nachos were the worst I've ever had: about ten soggy chips under a mountain of cheese that wasn't even melted. I wish I could show you.

The workers were kind, but the management's response left me feeling completely scammed. They admitted they were wrong and still didn't offer to refund any of the money. I've traveled around the world for seven years in a row, and this was my worst experience. I've had better treatment in Papua New Guinea, Africa and even In Lao. I didn't expect this in a European country. Not recommended. I booked a triple room online for myself and my family, with three single beds, but got nothing close to what I paid for. Instead, they gave us a double room with a baby cot, or offered another double room where a third bed would leave absolutely no room to walk. The booking also promised a bidet, soap, an iron, a table that I needed for work, and a balcony, all of which were missing. With my three-year-old child, we also had to listen to loud live music until 11 at night, which was definitely late for my child. This hadn't been mentioned during booking.

The food was disgusting. This was a meal I'll never forget, and not in a good way.
