The meals were all fresh and lovely, and the salad was great. Breakfast and dinner were included, and we had a nice shaded terrace with the room. One disappointment: the hotel pool was still closed and empty. It would have been nice to use in May when it was 25 degrees.

Breakfast at La Fragua I was excellent quality and good value, and the serving staff were superb. Special mention to Molly and her brother Lewis at the bar. The hotel is a good, typically Spanish place at the top of the white village of Trevelez. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the staff are attentive and friendly. I loved the village and hotel, and would definitely stay again.

The vehicle access is awful, so contact the hotel directly for instructions. Once there, the rooms are large, clean and functional; the pool is fine and breakfast is good. Meals at the Meson de Fragua are excellent. It’s a lovely hotel in a special place with very few foreign tourists, where the Spanish go. A great spot for a break.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very nice and had a great balcony, and breakfast offered plenty of choices, including fresh orange juice. The only downside was that the WiFi didn’t work in our rooms. A really great place to stay.

We had excellent service at Fragua II. It’s a well-run hotel, and our room was huge and clean, with a beautiful terrace. Dinner on the half-board plan was good, and breakfast was excellent.
