Herman picked us up at the bus station, so finding The Baciyelmo was easy. We were shown around and told how everything worked, and everyone made us feel welcome. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, with all we needed, and the peaceful garden was lovely to sit in. The hotel is also close to Trujillo's main square, which was handy during our three-night visit. We had such a great stay, and if we get back to Trujillo, we'd stay here again. Thanks for making the trip so special.

Karla and Herman are lovely hosts, and you can tell they take real pride in El Baciyelmo. The studio felt more like a hotel room than a holiday rental, with good equipment and none of the clutter you sometimes find in rentals. It's right in the centre, and having the garden to enjoy was a nice bonus. The small pool looked too cold for us in April, but I imagine it'd be welcome when it's warmer.

I loved how peaceful this place was, even with the main square and local shops close enough to explore on foot. The owners were so kind and welcoming. It's a lovely renovated house with a garden inside and a pool. I'd definitely come back for another restful stay.

Our hosts had arranged a COVID test at a Trujillo clinic before we even arrived, and they kept helping throughout our 11 nights. They did our laundry, helped with parking, and on our last day Herman came to the clinic with us to translate. He stayed until we were back at our car and ready to leave. The hotel itself was comfortable, with great facilities and a good location, but the hosts made the stay. And Karla's chocolate pudding with berries was a treat too.

The studio was roomy and comfortable, with everything we needed, plus a terrace overlooking the garden. Karla and Herman were warm, helpful hosts who knew the area well. There's plenty to explore nearby, and we hope to return.
