La Posada de San Marcial

I absolutely hated it. There’s a shared kitchen and bathroom, and it wasn’t clean. The floors were about to break, the stairs felt dangerous, and there was no heating. There’s no reception, just one person who gives you information for two minutes and isn’t presentable at all. There isn’t even a no-smoking sign, although the smell spread through the whole building. Terrible!

The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, making this a good place for a couple of nights. The floorboards do creak a bit when you walk around. I’d definitely stay here again if I came back to Tudela.

The location is good, parking costs €7 a day, and the girl was friendly. The beds and pillows are fine, and the air conditioning and heat pump work well. But this inn is several decades old and could use some floor renovation. The shared bathroom is used by all the rooms, and at night you hear people creaking their way there. There’s another small bathroom on the terrace, but if it’s raining you can’t get to it without getting wet. The place is on the second floor, with quite a few steps. Room number 2 had a terrible bed: whenever the person in it moved, the headboard banged against the wall, so it was impossible to hear anything else. During my stay, two guys were on the terrace talking, smoking, and probably using drugs in the terrace bathroom. I had to go out at 1:30 in the morning to tell them off, and couldn’t sleep. The kitchen has a microwave and little else, so it isn’t for cooking. Earplugs are practically essential for a one- or two-night stay.

Parking is difficult, though the place is well located near the center. It’s a shared apartment with a large shared bathroom, and the room was decent. There were four couples staying there, and one was very noisy, so you could hear everything.
