Skippy the dog was a highlight, keeping us company and guarding us on a walk, then greeting us when we got back from dinner. The setting is lovely, and breakfast was good, though it cost extra. We’d chosen the place partly because we hoped to eat there after a long drive, but dinner wasn’t available. The welcome was friendly, if very brief, and we felt a bit like unexpected arrivals despite having a reservation. Maybe William was away, or maybe we caught them on an off day. Either way, we left disappointed. It also felt a little pricey compared with similar B&Bs.

We had lovely breakfasts at the Pazo, and there’s a great bar down the road for tasty, inexpensive evening meals. The host was welcoming and full of useful information. It was a real treat during our motorcycle tour of Northern Spain. This corner of Galicia has so many hidden gems, with friendly locals too.

The owner was so kind and welcoming, and I’d love to come back. It’s a beautiful old manor rather than a typical hotel, with rooms for rent and loads of antique furnishings and decor. I really enjoyed all the character.

We still smelled like a pazo a week later, haha. The place itself is wonderful and full of charm, and the staff looked after it beautifully. But it could use some cleaning: there were cobwebs everywhere and a musty smell, probably from all the antique furniture.

The peaches from the garden were divine, and breakfast was the best we had on our trip. We were welcomed so warmly, slept wonderfully, and loved the magical feel of the place. The owners have restored this historic house with so much care and attention to detail. It’s truly special.
