Can Pericot - Casa dels Avis

We could have rated the house five stars if a number of things were improved. Some areas weren't very clean when we arrived, and the top floor hadn't been swept. The oven and toaster were dirty, the kitchen was short on basic items and didn't even have a simple juicer, and the coat rack by the entrance didn't work. The towels need replacing, as do the very thin pillows. The mattresses upstairs weren't comfortable either. At meals, the dining chairs and benches were uncomfortable and need replacing too.

The terrace pool was the highlight for me. It's a lovely rural house, decorated with care, and the rooms are spacious enough for 6-7 people. There's also a large kitchen and two bathrooms. Without a doubt, it's one of the most beautiful houses I've seen on the Costa Brava.

We were a bit disappointed with our summer stay. The website does mention parking, but guests aren't allowed to park at the house. Instead, there's a lot at the entrance to the village. For a house meant for 8 people, there were only six chairs indoors and six on the porch. The kitchen had just eight plates, glasses, and sets of cutlery, so we'd have needed to run the dishwasher after every meal, but it wasn't working. We told our contact person, who said someone would come to fix it, but nobody did. The freezer was out of order too, though the refrigerator worked. The house was dimly lit, and some bulbs had burned out. None were replaced during the week. The children's room has four uncomfortable bunk beds, and the stairs are dangerous for children to use on their own. The kitchenware was also lacking in general.

We had a really comfortable family weekend getaway. The house was clean and well equipped, and the pool and outdoor meals made everything easy. We were very grateful that, since nobody else was checking in that day, they let us leave after lunch.
