Casa Albertino

A small rural hotel in a lovely spot, close to both Comillas and Oyambre beach. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully renovated inside the old traditional building. The prices are very fair.

A nice place to stay on the Camino. The room was lovely, with a balcony and an absolutely amazing bathroom.

We came back to Casa Albertino again this year and met a couple from Seville. We were telling them how good the accommodation is, how friendly everyone is, and how pleasant the house feels. Everything was just right, from the cleanliness and location to the owner’s constant smile. It’s a pleasure to stay somewhere like this.

The whole stay was a disaster in terms of service, and I believe the owner is responsible, although we never even met them. To be fair, the woman working at the hotel, who was not the owner, was always attentive and tried to sort things out. When we arrived, the reception area looked abandoned, as shown in the attached photos. We were put on the second floor in a room described as having a “sea view.” It hadn’t been properly cleaned: the bathroom was filthy and the floor sticky. The woman said she’d clean it thoroughly, but we ended up asking to move to a clean, ready room. The replacement was “better,” though it had some minor problems shown in the photos. We accepted it because what choice did we have? The shower was tiny, the toilet seat loose, and the pillow smelled of tobacco. We asked for a different pillow on two consecutive days and were ignored, so we slept with our own towel over it. The double mattress was sitting on two sofa beds, as the photos show. There was no privacy at all, and you could hear everything throughout the house. Even after they cleaned the room, they didn’t leave us shower towels. It made us want to run away. I’m sharing photos of the whole room so people can judge for themselves. We’re very sorry to have to report such a terrible experience.
