A car is necessary for this remote, old-fashioned rural hotel near the Spain-Portugal border. The rooms are roomy and have good air conditioning, and having a small pool is a real plus in the summer heat. The man serving breakfast was cheerful and kind. Dinner, though, disappointed us, and there are better choices nearby. I'd suggest seeing the Portuguese village Marvao, with its castle and medieval walls.

The staff were warm and attentive, and the service made the visit very pleasant. We enjoyed the food too, everything was delicious and the quality came through in every dish. A place I'd happily return to and recommend.

The views are lovely, the rooms have everything you might need, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Best of all was the way we were treated. Quini and Jose are wonderful, they made us feel like family, and the food was amazing. I'd definitely recommend it.

Just a few kilometers from the Portuguese border, this welcoming family-run place is in a small village near Valencia de Alcántara. The scenery is lovely, and when meal time comes, the Extremaduran dishes are delicious. Good food, attentive staff, and excellent service made it feel especially inviting.

I don't normally leave reviews, but the owners here made our five work days so easy that I had to say something. Breakfast was meant to start at 9:00, yet every morning they had it ready for us at 7:30, always with lovely smiles and kindness. We also came in late for dinner. Even though we were the only guests, they still served us a delicious meal that was just right. On our final day they gave us a few bottles of wine, too. I've only got good things to say about this hotel-restaurant. I highly recommend it.
