Hotel Ad Hoc Carmen

The hot shower was nice, and we had a pleasant twin room with air conditioning. There’s a 24-hour reception and an easy walk takes you to the square, where the pavement cafés are lively at night. The hotel has no restaurant, but offers a discount at one down the road. As a British guest, I would have liked a kettle and cups in the room. I’d stay here again.

We had the two-floor family room. It was clean, and the beds were good. The hotel’s on a quiet street, with a pleasant buzz just two streets away, and it’s very close to Plaza de Virgin and other old town sights. The location is absolutely superb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very satisfied, and highly recommend it.

The rooms could use some refreshing, but the price felt fair for the quality. It’s a relatively cheap hotel in a great location, with nice service, free Wi-Fi and reception open 24/7. My room was cleaned every day. I recommend it!

We were a family of four, with kids aged 23 and 16, and had a pretty good stay at Ad Hoc Carmen Valencia in June 2022. The neighborhood was nice and quiet at night, with restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The bathrooms were small but adequate, and the showers had very hot water with good pressure. We would stay again, though we’d probably book two standard rooms during warmer months instead of a family duplex. The air conditioning in the duplex rooms was questionable, at least by US standards. Our room had units on both floors, but neither was enough the first night, and the room felt hotter than outside by morning. After we complained, the front desk checked our room and a neighboring one, and we moved. The new room was better, though not perfect: the lower floor was fine on nights two and three, while upstairs stayed a bit too warm. I worry those rooms may not cool enough at night in the real heat of July and August.
