Happy Apartments Valencia

Really disappointing. The owner hasn’t replied to our questions, and we’ve had a lot of trouble dealing with her. We’re still waiting for a payment of 420 €. This wasn’t professional at all.

The studio was lovely and spacious, with a little balcony. Getting in with a code was easy, even arriving late in the evening. The cathedral is just a very short walk away, and I loved the location.

The apartment is small, but it’s in a great spot and has a balcony. The double bed is only 1.40m wide, and the bathroom could’ve been cleaner. There was dirt stuck to the ceiling, and the shampoo holder came straight off the wall, so they’d taped it back on. It’s also really noisy. From 6 am, I could hear children running and crying upstairs. Once they stopped, the school across the street started up.

We booked and paid for a city view, but got a first-floor apartment facing a building or school yard. You can hear everything from the rooms above, especially when people use the bathroom, and each time someone enters the building. The place looks lovely in the photos, but that’s far from reality. The neighborhood had drug users and rowdy people around, which wasn’t ideal with children. For hotel prices, the quality felt like a backpacker hostel. Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired: the sofa was stained, the shower had mold, and there were smells in the room and throughout the building. It was high season and we booked at the last minute, so finding somewhere else was hard. Otherwise, I’d have packed up and left. I’ve stayed at better campsites.
