Holiday Inn Express Valencia Ciudad de las Ciencias by IHG

The bathroom was the one letdown: water pressure was very low, and the temperature kept fluctuating, which got annoying. Otherwise, a very good hotel, with great rooms, excellent breakfast, and staff who were friendly and helpful.

Our room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It worked well for a trip with children. Arts and Sciences, the Oceanographic, and Gulliver park are a 20-30 minute walk away. Bus 99 stops outside the hotel and takes 35 minutes to reach the Biopark.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel did the job for one night. It’s extremely basic and a bit outdated. I found it close only to the science and arts center; everywhere else seemed about a 45 minute walk or a 15 minute drive. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want to stay somewhere more central.

The hotel is close to the aquarium, a nice park, and a shopping centre with loads of clothes shops, food places, and other stores. The aquarium is huge and has gift shops. The park is a nice place to take a break, with lots of kids’ parks and slides. You can rent bikes and e scooters, though you have to be over 16 to use the bikes. There’s a burger king right next door, plus plenty of restaurants around the area. The old town and cathedral are a must visit, and the headset tour is a good way to see them. Our room was spacious and clean, with a coffee and tea spot, a TV you can log into for netflix, and an open wardrobe area for hanging a few things and storing belongings. There was no fridge, and while our bathroom had a bin, the room itself didn’t. A note in the bathroom says you can ask the desk if you forgot anything. The bathroom is small but just right, and both the shower and sink had great water pressure. The air conditioner worked well. It was mostly quiet, though sometimes we could hear guests or staff walking around, and there’s a main road next door. Staff were attentive and helpful, and understood English well. Breakfast had lots of choices. It could get busy, but staff would let you know when a table was free. The lobby was modern and clean, with bathrooms, and the eating area was tidy and well maintained. There’s also a swimming pool with lounge chairs and big umbrellas. You pay 20€ to get a pool towel, then get the 20€ back when you return it.
