NH Valencia Center

I won’t come back or recommend this place. There was construction at the hotel that hadn’t been mentioned in advance, and the hotel bar was closed, so they opened the restaurant at night instead. The place had no atmosphere. The entrance carpet was completely dirty, which gave a bad first impression of how the hotel is managed. It’s close to the center, but the garage was dirty too, and workers were smoking in it. The promised 20% parking discount was also misleading. We got 12%, and when I raised it, a staff member was rude and said I was the problem.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bed was made up almost perfectly every day. I’d have liked bigger rooms and more breakfast choice, with the food served hotter. Dinner was very expensive for what was on offer, and I wasn’t impressed.

The friendly staff were the only real bright spot. They were always ready to help, but most of the hotel feels tired. Just the renovated reception and a few updated rooms give a better impression. One room on the floor had been redone, while the rest were old and worn. The terrace was extremely worn out, and the pool looked even worse. I really don’t understand how the place has four stars. The bed linen and towels were dirty, and the bathroom door only partly worked. We had to sleep on the dirty linen the first night because we weren’t prepared to move rooms at 10 p.m., after the cleaning staff had finished for the day. The bathroom also had drainage problems, with water not going down properly.

The fresh breakfast had so much variety, almost like what you’d find on a cruise ship. There were four of us, including one person with coeliac disease, and the staff took great care of her, explaining what she could and couldn’t eat and bringing her plenty of food. The rooms were fabulous, the staff were very friendly, and the hotel is near the old town as well as a large shopping center. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. I highly recommend NH Hotel Center.
