Palacio De Rojas Valencia (ex. Valenciaflats Calle Quart)

The street stayed noisy into the early morning, which was the downside. Otherwise, it’s a lovely, well-equipped apartment in a central location, with a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. The shower had strong pressure.

The apartment is spacious and has all sorts of facilities, including laundry, parking, an oven and a fridge. The location is great, and the staff were friendly, attentive and concerned about guests. Still, I don’t think the apartment I was given was the best one. The shower had a humidity problem that should be dealt with before the room is offered to other guests. I imagine the other bathrooms are as clean as they look in the advertisements, but mine wasn’t.

The staff were helpful when the boiler had a problem and when our keys got stuck in the door. But when I asked reception for more milk pods, I was rather abruptly told to buy milk at Carrefour. That felt strict after paying £634 for four nights. The apartment looked lovely online and the location was great, but in person it felt tired and much less impressive than the photos. The furniture needs replacing. The armchair and dining chairs were stained enough to feel unclean, and not what we expected for the price. The bathroom also badly needs maintenance: the tiles were chipped or cracked, and the shower smelled strongly of drains or sewage. It was very noisy inside the apartment. We expected some city noise because of the central location, but the windows did little to keep it out at 4 am. We could hear the hallway and upstairs neighbours, even slight furniture movement. The living room had a street view, but the lounge had none, and the apartment was quite dark during the day. That might have been forgivable if it hadn’t also felt tired and smelled bad. All in all, a thoroughly disappointing, overpriced stay.

The location gets 4.8 stars from me. This vacation rental is perfectly placed for central Valencia, with food, restaurants, bars, entertainment, historic places and parks all within walking distance.
