Hotel Port Feria Valencia

I’m writing this at 1 a.m. because I’m so uncomfortable. The room was very hot and impossible to sleep in: the AC only blew air without cooling, so I ended up sleeping on the floor to cool off. Reception told me the AC for the whole apartment is turned off in winter and only heating works, with cooling starting in summer, even though Valencia was already hot. Opening the windows for fresh air didn’t help because the traffic noise kept me awake, and the poor sound insulation meant I could hear neighbors walking and talking. If you book through Booking.com, they may assign you the worst room. The hotel is far from the city, so you need a taxi to get anywhere. They also took my credit card details at check-in for minibar charges. I think they should check minibar use at checkout instead of keeping my card details. Overall, a very uncomfortable and disappointing stay.

The bathroom needs attention: the shower area seems to leak or be poorly sealed, and water spreads over the whole floor after each use, making it slippery and inconvenient. Aside from that, everything was very good, including the hotel atmosphere, breakfast choices, and service. The room, 404, was clean and comfortable with what I needed for a short stay. Staff were friendly, check-in went smoothly, and the location was convenient for exploring Valencia. Fixing the bathroom issue would make the stay perfect.

The bar service was painfully slow, and the food I tried was just okay. Someone else had pizza, and you should avoid it. My room was 26 degrees, with the aircon blowing only hot air. The hotel has just one fan, and naturally it was in somebody else’s room. The tiny ironing board sits on the bed and is useless for getting anything done. It had a red label that melted onto the iron and ruined my shirt. I’ve got three more nights of this. God help me. Find a different hotel.

A decent four-star hotel for a business trip, with rooms that are okay and fairly spacious. The Valencia expo center is only a couple of minutes away. There aren’t many shops or restaurants nearby, and you can hear people in the hallways, so the sound insulation needs work. I’d recommend it if you have business at the expo center.
