Apartamentos Wallace Valencia

The location is central, with restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets an easy walk away. The apartment is tucked into a side street, though, not right in front of the Plaza del Ayuntamien fountain shown in most of the glossy photos. (See Photo) It’s a modern, three-level place with a fair amount of space, but room 10 is tiny unless you’re a hobbit. Each room is comfortable for 3 people. We needed two rooms, since Valencia doesn’t really accommodate larger families, especially this centrally. The street can get noisy on weekends, with music from the downstairs bar playing until 4am. Parking is allocated nearby, with a discount during your stay. The awkward bit was getting the keys: after parking, we had to go to another associated hotel to pick them up, then carry our luggage through the streets to Wallace apartments. It’s only a 5-7 min walk, but a real pain. It’s not cheap either. We paid $335 euros for 3 nights per room during non peak tourist season.

Ines at reception made our visit much richer with her recommendations. Thanks to her and to Wallace! The service and care for clients were at their best, and the location is perfect. The room might look small, but it’s very practical and well equipped.

This could otherwise be a wonderful place. I spent a total of a month at this hotel. My first two-week stay was okay, though I was never really in the room. On my second stay there was no hot water or internet, and construction noise went on continuously from 9am-4pm, with banging, drilling, and sawing. It was in the same building, but they claimed they didn’t know anything about it. The manager seemed unaware of every issue, even though at least four of us in separate rooms, who didn’t know one another, had the same problems. There was also often a strong smell of fish and frying oil coming through the over-stove ventilation fan. You can mostly avoid it by never turning that fan on.

The apartments are modern and nicely equipped with what you need for a stay of several days. They’re right in central Valencia, but on a quiet side street, so the location is very good.
