Hotel SH Suite Palace

We booked three rooms, and this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. The location is excellent, and the rooms were generally clean, though there was some dust in the vents. Two of the three rooms were fine. The third smelled strongly of wastewater. We complained, but the only option was a smaller downgraded room, which also smelled, though less badly. The receptionist said Valencia has pipe problems. Management wasn’t there and the hotel was full, so that was all she could offer. They included free breakfast as compensation, but I didn’t use it and didn’t care about it. The receptionist and maintenance staff were polite and tried to help, but they didn’t have the support or tools to solve the problem. I’d rate their service 1/5, with the point only for their kindness, and problem resolution 0/5. The building was separate from the main reception, so we had to check in elsewhere. Lobby lights switched off automatically if you sat still. The downgrade room was very noisy, and I could clearly hear the street. The air conditioning was okay but could be better, with a minimum setting of 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The odor ruined the room, and management needs to improve. There are better places in this location.
