Expedia did eventually find us a good replacement in the city center, and I have to compliment them for that. We were six people and had booked three double rooms with baths, and the alternative was just as good. But getting there was extremely stressful. We arrived to find the accommodation deserted, with nobody answering and no way to make contact. Neighbors told us people often ended up outside a locked door. This came after I’d tried several times the day before to call the number in the booking details, without reaching anyone. I’d already had a bad feeling, even though we’d booked through Expedia in December and there weren’t any negative reviews at the time. When I called Expedia before leaving, they tried other numbers and emailed Javier, the owner. They said they hadn’t had problems before and couldn’t rely on what was being said online, then told us to call their special international number if we got there and couldn’t get in. That’s exactly what happened. Expedia arranged the replacement within about 1.5 hours.

The travel agency got us new hotel rooms, and Expedia deserves credit for sorting that out. Still, it was a disappointing way to start a holiday. We were sent to an office to collect the keys, but the owner then gave us another address and phone number. We called repeatedly and were politely ignored each time. The new address turned out to be a closed garage door, so we had to arrange a different place to stay.

There was no one to complain to, since nobody was ever around, and the numbers listed for 24-hour calls NEVER got answered. After hours and days of trying, we also found that the number shown here belonged to another hotel. When we did get into the place, the rooms were dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Total disappointment, and a real lack of respect for guests.

We visited over the June 2nd long weekend. A local shopkeeper told us the place had been closed for two months and was scamming people. Expedia found us somewhere to stay right away, thankfully. SCAM. DO NOT BOOK.
