Total Valencia Terrace

We were eight adults sharing for a long weekend, and the apartment and location were absolutely perfect.

The apartment was a terrible deal for the money, and we left feeling SCAMMED. We were charged €50 from our deposit, supposedly because we hadn’t washed the dishes or taken out the trash. We’d left the dishes in the dishwasher, taken out the trash, and cleaned the whole place before leaving. We swept and mopped, washed the coffee maker and other utensils by hand, and put the food scraps in garbage bags with the rest of the rubbish. When we challenged the owner and asked for photos as proof, he said they wouldn’t change their minds. It wasn’t just losing the €50, it was being lied to and treated like fools. The problems started on arrival. We waited more than 30 minutes past our agreed 3:00 PM check-in time, out in 35°C heat in mid-July, with no one around. When someone finally arrived, we were told about a €300 deposit that nobody had mentioned before, along with the €50 cleaning fee we already knew about. The place seemed neglected everywhere: rooms with no ventilation, damp walls, a messy terrace with a falling-apart parasol, and an oven without a tray. The street-facing bedroom windows had no soundproofing, so the constant traffic from the main avenue made sleeping very difficult, practically around the clock. The apartment looked nothing like its listing photos. We were also told the terrace, the only outdoor space, couldn’t be used after 10:00 PM and that noise was forbidden. In July, that’s the coolest time to sit outside, so when were we supposed to use it, at 3:00 PM? It felt like a space we couldn’t use at all. After our three-night stay, this is the last apartment I’d recommend to anyone. Don’t make our mistake.
