The location is handy, close to the Renfe station, restaurants, shops, nightlife, Central Market, and museums. But the actual stay was a nightmare, and this “Luxury Boutique” place is massively overpriced for what it is. The building is in rough shape, with peeling paint and water stains in the stairwell. There’s no elevator at the entrance, so our family of six had to carry luggage, groceries, and cats up 25+ stairs before reaching an elevator that goes up one level to the apartment. There was mold on the kitchen ceiling and heavy black mold above the bedroom curtains. The fridge and freezer stopped working on our first night, so we had to throw out all our fresh food. The iron was too stained to use, and hot water ran out after two short showers, then took 30 minutes to heat again. The sofas were cheap, filthy, worn through, and so low to the floor that sitting down and getting up was uncomfortable for adults. You could feel the wood frame, and the kitchen chairs were stained. Dust and cobwebs covered the lamps and pictures. The beds were low too, with no legs. Both bathrooms were tiny, barely giving you room to close the door and use the sink or shower. The apartment door was structurally unsound, with a large gap exposing the deadbolts and another big gap around the keyhole. That left my family and our belongings feeling vulnerable, a basic security failure for a rental, especially one sold as “luxury.” Save your money and stay somewhere else.
