The hosts were genuinely thoughtful. We got our timing wrong and arrived close to 10 pm, but the mother and son were still awake, greeting us with big smiles. They weren’t annoyed about the late arrival, they were concerned that we were okay. We stayed for two nights while exploring the area, and the clean, lovely rooms had pine details and charming sloped roof windows. Breakfast was excellent, too. Make some time to look at the objects downstairs. The building used to be an old cinema. A big thank you to our wonderful hosts. I definitely recommend staying here!

After walking the GR11, we really needed a comfortable place to rest, and this cosy spot was just right. We felt welcome and well looked after by the warm, accommodating owners. The hearty breakfast was delicious and generous enough to set us up for a strong, fast day of walking. There’s a bathtub in the bathroom, a tired trekker’s dream.

The town is very quiet, and the views are great. Our room was spacious, the shower was fab, and the service was great. They even let us store our two motorbikes there, which was awesome. There’s a local bar up some steps that’s worth a visit.

I’d return to Hotel La Ribera if I came back to the Vall de Cardó. The meals were all very good, and breakfast was varied and served generously. Our room and bathroom were comfortable, the bed and pillows were great, and everything was very clean. There’s parking for the car, and the butterfly museum is just 100 meters away. We also drove up to Pleta del Prat (Tabascan), Ginestarre..., where we saw lots of butterflies.
