Mas Salagros Ecoresort & Aire Ancient Baths

We paid 500€ for a garden suite and spent the night cold because the only AC option was cold. There were excuses on top of excuses and the service was bad. The area is really nice and relaxing, but we couldn’t relax at all. I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here.

We left very disappointed after our weekend. The restaurant and spa service was slow and unfriendly, and the food quality wasn’t satisfying. Our room was an old one for disabled people, and the facilities throughout the place are dated and clearly need renovation. It felt overrated and nothing like a five star experience.

The food was the highlight. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that tasted like real food. Dinner was just as impressive. We tried both hotel restaurants and enjoyed them, especially the chocolate dessert at Restaurant Gastronòmic 1497, which was easily Michelin level. We extended our original three-night stay because we were having such a good time. The hotel is in a stunning natural setting with scenic hiking paths, and the property is gorgeous. Our room had an incredible view and a spacious private garden. The staff were consistently friendly and polite, adding to the relaxing feel. I’d put this hotel on the more modest end of what “five-star” can mean, but it’s absolutely worth visiting. A couple of small things could be improved, though they didn’t take away from our experience. My partner and I had eaten at the restaurant and visited the spa before, but this was our first time staying at the hotel.

We’re already dreaming of coming back. Mas Salagros is a real gem, set in a beautiful forest that makes you feel surrounded by wild nature. The spa experience, ‘the ancient bath - Aire’, was one of the most unique we’ve ever had. It’s worth every euro, and I’d highly recommend visiting every day of your stay. From before we arrived, we felt so cared for. Amazing Eva was kind and attentive from the first emails, patiently answering all my questions and requests, and her service made us feel welcome when we got there. Santi’s endless smile, fantastic tips and warm service made things even more special. Thanks as well to Maria and the whole team for their heartfelt hospitality and for always checking that we were happy. Mil gracias, mil veces gracias!
