Masia Vista Hermosa

This is a charming, rustic farmhouse, without luxuries, and the owner was very friendly. It felt private even in the shared areas, and the scenery is beautiful and peaceful. My wife and I booked the suite with a fireplace and had an unforgettable night. The three things that made it special were the sauna, fireplace, and huge bathtub. The sauna is right in the suite and takes about 30 to 45 minutes to reach its ideal temperature. The tub, with bath salts, takes roughly as long to fill with hot water, so it’s ready while you’re in the sauna. Then you can get out, light the fireplace, switch off the lights and unwind together in the tub, which is large enough to lie down in completely. Having the fire warm and light the room is a romantic touch you don’t find in many places, and relaxing in the bath after the sauna is really worthwhile. We’d read some good and bad reviews, but for the price this suite with a fireplace is excellent. It isn’t a luxury room, but I think we had a wonderful night because of those three features. If you’re after peace, quiet, and a deep connection with your partner, the price is well worth it. I think we’ll be back.

Just the two of us and our dog stayed at this lovely, atmospheric place in the mountains near Barcelona. Even in winter, it’s highly recommended with the fireplace and candles lit. She made us a small dinner for two, and we’re having breakfast tomorrow at 9:30. Then we’ll be on our way. If you’re interested in horseback riding, you may be able to find a place below us. There are several riding arenas up the mountain, along with lots of stables and horse stalls.

It smells of horse manure everywhere, even in the bedroom. The place wasn’t clean, the bed didn’t match the photo, and the mattress had a huge crater. We couldn’t sleep there and requested a cancellation because the accommodation didn’t match what was advertised. We got a refund for one of the two nights, so we lost €130. We stayed for just one night and spent the day enjoying the pool, peace and quiet, and nature. What I liked most was how much it felt like home. We were practically alone and hardly saw any staff. The rooms are very vintage, including the utensils and amenities, and everything has a rural feel. Don’t expect a five-star hotel.
