Casa Rural Sancho el Fuerte

The location was excellent, and both houses were clean and well equipped. When we arrived on the first day, the heating and stove were already on. We had a fantastic weekend in the two houses. Highly recommend!

Loly made us feel so welcome, and the house was spotless. We had everything we needed, with every detail thought through for a lovely stay. Sancho el Fuerte is beautiful, and the garden and barbecue are very well kept. The pool was great for cooling off in the heat, and four of us fit comfortably. The area is completely peaceful. We hope to come back sometime!

We spent 15 days here and found it spotless, with all sorts of cooking utensils available and a private pool that the owner came to clean every day. She was attentive when we arrived and throughout our stay, and her hospitality was outstanding. The house is in a very quiet area, close to the town center. I’d definitely recommend it for a stay with family or friends.

Two days before we were due to arrive, the owner phoned and told me we couldn’t stay because someone else had rented the same place through another app. I’d booked through Booking.com a month earlier. He asked me to cancel, but didn’t offer another place or a refund, even though the cancellation deadline had passed and it wasn’t our fault. It sounded like an excuse to us, maybe so he could give the place to someone he knew. I contacted Booking.com customer service, who dealt with the refund. They also offered other accommodation and said they could cover the part of the cost that matched the rural house we had originally booked, even if a replacement through their app cost more. The owner was the one who eventually canceled the Booking.com booking, after we waited to hear about an alternative, but later blamed Booking.com for canceling it. This was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. With only two days left, finding somewhere similar near our original location was practically impossible. Places were twice as expensive and much farther from where we were starting. If you’ve already arranged other activities, you’re left taking whatever accommodation you can find or canceling your plans. I’m including photos from the day I booked and the day they canceled, plus a screenshot of the owner’s response, since I can’t reply to the reviews. I’m not making this up as they claim, and my reservation wasn’t canceled 30 minutes after booking. I have no reason to invent the story. I can’t accept being called a liar when the mistake was theirs, or their refusal to admit it and their criticism of however someone might react when their plans are canceled two days before arrival. Not recommended. I don’t think this is a place you can trust.
