Casas Rurales Los Almendreros

Having breakfast in the cool garden and reading there at the end of the day, after exploring the lovely island, was such a pleasure. We were three staying at El Ciruelo, and it was fantastic. My room had a huge bed, and both bedrooms looked out to the sea. It felt truly luxurious to wake up to the garden and water, then enjoy the sunset and evening from that beautiful vantage point. A perfect 10 for the house and the trip. Thank you!

We came as a group of couples with our classic cars and could park in the property's designated spaces. The three welcoming cottages are beautiful and have everything needed for a comfortable stay, inside and out. They’re just right for a few restful days on the island. If you’re planning a fantastic break on El Hierro, stay at Los Almendreros.

If you love unspoiled nature, this is a must. There’s nothing for children, though. From 450 meters up, you get a fantastic ocean view. The garden has fruit, and a beautiful palm tree is home to four Canary Island kestrels that return each evening. Don’t expect luxury. It’s very basic, but comfortable enough to get by. The bedroom and shower bathroom are spacious, and the living room and kitchen have enough room to spend your mornings and evenings. El Hierro has periods of high humidity, and the house does too. Open everything up and it clears.

The views are lovely, and the owner, Doña Candelaria, is very friendly. It’s an old house with stone exterior walls built in the traditional way, though the inside has been renovated. The kitchen is superbly equipped, and there’s an outdoor dining area with a barbecue. Great prices too. I’d happily come again.
