The room was roomy and comfortable, and there’s a big shared space with a lounge. We spent three nights here and definitely recommend it. It’s peaceful, with a lovely garden, and we enjoyed lunch from the restaurant out in the garden. The restaurant is well worth trying.

It’s a nice place, honestly, but the value for the price didn’t work for me. The dishes are fancy, yet the portions are small and the prices fairly high. Maybe that’s because there isn’t much competition around.

We found a wonderfully quiet spot to eat, and the service was impeccable. We were visiting the area and managed to get a table without booking, which was lucky. For starters we had salt cod salad with tomato and beans, then pork knuckle with honey and mustard and stewed cured goat meat. We shared a goat cheese tart, honey yogurt, and French press coffee to finish. It was a really pleasant meal in a lovely place.

The goat cheesecake was delicious, and both mains were cooked just right: the roast beef was perfect and the oxtail was beautifully done. We booked for lunch, and the quality is well worth recommending. I’d recommend it without hesitation.
