The pool was a highlight, with clear water at a comfortable temperature, and they even supplied special towels for it. Our cabin was spotless and in great shape. The staff were so friendly and attentive, especially at breakfast: everything looked lovely, they kept checking that we had what we needed, and they wrapped a utensil in plastic for our baby. It was a real treat staying here, and we’ll definitely return.

The pool water was cold enough that we hardly saw anyone swimming. The bigger issue was the winter setup: the cabins and shared spaces weren’t ready for the temperatures, with poor insulation and heating that was inadequate, broken, or simply left off. We got an apology and the service improved a lot, but having the heating off until 7:30 pm meant we were expected to eat breakfast in our coats. Poor management and no clear communication from the staff at the start really spoiled the stay.

Itziar, thanks for being so kind and doing such a good job this weekend. Staying at Fuentes Blancas gives us another reason to come back to Vegacervera for a fabulous weekend. It’s a pleasure when people welcome you in and make you feel at home. Congratulations to the team too, they’ve clearly put in a lot of work, and those thoughtful little touches will have us back soon.

The pool was the one letdown: the water felt quite cold, even though they explained the reason and it made sense. We’d expected it to be warmer. Aside from that, everything was great. The rooms were clean, bright, and comfortable, like little cabins in a beautiful setting, and the breakfast was delicious. A woman working the buffet went out of her way to keep things stocked and comfortable for us, even though we arrived half an hour before it ended. She made eggs, cut more fruit and cold cuts, and checked we had what we needed. They were just as flexible when we asked for a slightly later checkout after waking up late. The restaurant was closed when we arrived, but they suggested nearby places with good value. We were pleasantly surprised, especially by how lovely the staff were. Friends and I booked two rooms for a weekend exploring the caves, and I’d highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.
