We loved waking up to the mountain views and having breakfast on the private porch as the sun came up. The house in Arenas de Beloncio is just as it looks in the photos, clean, bright, and comfortably furnished in a rustic but modern style. There was plenty of natural and artificial light, and the bedrooms were roomy, with great beds, mattresses, pillows, and sheets. Both bathrooms and the toilet were in good shape and stocked with towels and toiletries. The living room opens onto the garden through big windows, with a comfortable sofa and a wooden table between it and the kitchen, which has a breakfast bar. The house also had everything listed on the website, including a dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, and iron. Our daughters especially enjoyed the snug playroom upstairs. My husband, our girls, aged 8 and 12, and I stayed for the first week of September. We’ve tried other rural places, and felt this one offered excellent value for money. The quiet village is a good base, about 45-50 minutes from the main coastal and mountain spots in eastern Asturias. There’s a bar for basic supplies, though we couldn’t find a supermarket during the summer holidays. Thanks, Violeta, for being so attentive, flexible with our arrival and reservation extension, and helpful with advice on getting around Asturias. We’ll probably come back, though I don’t know when.
