Of the sites we stayed at during two months travelling through Spain, Camping Vejer was both the most expensive and the worst. It was empty, with old, ramshackled caravans left to rust all over. The pool looked great, but guests aren’t allowed to use it, and the showers were only mildly lukewarm. There’s no shop open on site, and the town is 5k away, so plan accordingly if you’re walking. Also watch out for the mosquitoes. It’s in a forest and I’ve been bitten to death.

I’m really happy here and booked for four days as soon as I saw the place. The pool, bar and everything else seemed really nice. Sure, there are flies and mosquitoes, but we’re out in the countryside. If that’s your biggest problem, stop camping! Why is the average only 3.6?

The restaurant has a great range of choices, and the houses are lovely. They have ceiling fans but no air conditioning, so they can get warm in the summer.

A beautiful spot among magnificent pine trees, with friendly staff and clean bathrooms and grounds. There’s also a well equipped bar and coffee bar.
