La Sultana de Vejer

For a taste of traditional Spanish village life, Veja is a lovely place to visit. Many streets are narrow and steep, and the town sits high on a hill. A car is preferable, though regular buses run up from the bottom. Basic Spanish is useful, as few locals speak English. Restaurants and cafes serve traditional Spanish food, while most shops meet residents' needs, with a few artisan clothing and gift boutiques around town. If you're after an experience beyond the usual beach holiday, I'd recommend a trip. Veja will stay in your memory and have you wanting to return.

The apartment itself was very nice, but our one-night stay was spoiled by the neighbours. There was construction noise during the day, followed by loud evenings. It's a shame such a nice apartment is affected. If the owner bought the whole building and made it into nice apartments, I'd give it five stars.

There are several apartments here, from very well equipped to more basic, in a central spot that's excellent for sightseeing. Getting around with luggage is a bit of a trek, and parking nearby is very difficult. Prices are high, as is common in town.

We loved our five-night stay in the Fatima apartment. It was clean, had good facilities and plenty of kitchen utensils, and its location in Vejer was excellent. Highly recommended.
