It’s one of the older urbanisations in the area, but it’s still in good shape. A cafe and Mercadona are just across the road. They’ve recently added solar panels to power the indoor pool’s heating.

I’ve been in Spain for five years. When I arrived from Tarragona to rent an atico in Lomas de Mar1 starting June 1, the place looked nice at first, but the apartment was very dirty. The kitchen faucet didn’t work, and the oven and plates were broken. I contacted the landlord, who said the damage would be repaired. The following week, I tried to get a new Padron and change my address for my nie and social health insurance. At the municipal office, they told me the contract was illegal and I couldn’t register. I got in touch with the owner, but she didn’t reply for a week and then seemed not to understand. A notary confirmed it was an illegal rental. I cancelled the apartment, but the owner refused to return my deposit, saying it was for the repairs she’d made. It’s actually quite funny. I’m now trying to contact the administration at Lomas de Mar. I made an appointment for 10 on a Tuesday, but she didn’t show. I tried again for 11 on Friday, and she didn’t come then either. Lomas De Mar 1 itself is very well kept and looks good. I just don’t understand why they allow this kind of business on their land.

Run really well.

There’s plenty here: roomy apartments, great views of the sea and mountains, indoor and outdoor pools, playgrounds, and paddle tennis courts. The parking is the main downside. It’s really small, and it’s very hard to park when cars are along both sides.

The community has two outdoor pools and a heated one, and the shared areas are looked after. They still need paint and restoration, though. The place looks old and badly needs renovation. Each apartment gets just one parking space, so visitors have to leave their cars on the street. The apartments are privately rented, so I can’t say much about them. If you want luxury, there are plenty of other options.
