Cortijo de Don Victor

We stayed for three months, from mid-November to mid-February 2019/2020, and came away feeling good about it. This is a rural, rustic Cortijo, with no airs or graces, so it suits you if you want a quiet farmhouse-style holiday. The little estate has orange and olive trees, and we could help ourselves to oranges and juice. Francisco likes fishing, so an occasional fish on the doorstep shouldn't surprise you. Our dog was very welcome, too. The place is spacious, and we found the main bedroom very comfortable. It was the only one we used, as there were just two of us. The location, friendliness, and the way we were made to feel special all added to a great stay. Francisco speaks good English and is a caring host, even with his full-time job keeping him busy. His friends would drop in from time to time, too. It gets very chilly after sunset, but Francisco kept us supplied with logs. The log fire made the evenings feel cosy and homely. We had a couple of problems during the stay, including the Wi-Fi going down and torrential rain blocking the drains. Francisco was dealing with the drains in his dressing gown in the early hours, despite having influenza.
