Rentalmar Villa Cristina

The house has a lot going for it as a place to stay. It’s spacious, comfortable and has room for 12, sofa beds included, with a large living room, two full bathrooms and a garage that fits a small car. All the rooms are on one floor, including the turret bedroom, though getting up its narrow stairs is a bit awkward and there’s no bathroom upstairs. I liked being away from the busy city center, and it’s very quiet at night. During the day, though, it’s on a main road that gets busy, and you’ll need a car to reach the beach or go shopping. The garden could be lovely if it were maintained, and there are charming outdoor areas, but the condition we found was poor. I was only there for two nights while friends had booked the house for a week. They arrived to a green pool, an overgrown terrace and a neglected house, then waited more than two hours for cleaning and gardening to be arranged. They couldn’t use the pool until the third day. The house hadn’t been cleaned, and the sheets came from an unclean laundry and were crawling with bugs that looked very much like bedbugs. Someone did come and change them, but the replacement sheets had the same problem. The person managing the rental was wonderful and worked to get things sorted as quickly as possible, which deserves credit. The owner had rented the house out at a very high price despite its poor condition.
