Other reviews had made me worry, but this deserves top marks as a central hotel that caters to cyclists. I normally stay at hotel Eth Pomer, but it isn't open in May. Our room had no air-conditioning, though the ceiling fan worked fine with 35C days and 20C nights. Breakfast was ample and fabulous. Since it's a fairly affordable hotel, some guests try to pack a big picnic lunch into their rucksacks at breakfast, so staff serve the pricier buffet items. They weren't stingy with them. This will be my go-to Vielha hotel now: it's central, cyclist-friendly, and covers the things that matter most. The hotel bar is well worth a visit for a nightcap after checking out bars such as Refu.

We didn't use the pool or sauna because they cost extra. The service was super nice, and the food was good quality with plenty of variety. We completely loved this cozy hotel, Aran La Abuela, in the center of Vielha, close to restaurants and shops, and about 200mts from public parking.

We ended up needing a place for one night unexpectedly after a day traveling through narrow canyons in heavy storms, with lightning and hail. The delay meant we missed the place we'd arranged farther up the valley in a ski area. We got a good night's sleep here and more besides, all for a reasonable price. The bed was comfortable, the staff were excellent and very accommodating, and the place had real charm in the Aranese town of Vielha. The town itself has plenty to recommend it, and the hotel staff gave us helpful pointers. Recommended!

After heavy rain in the mountains, I stopped for a night. The owner was very nice, and the room had an excellent dryer that was extremely useful. I liked the hotel's rustic, old feel; it felt unique. I couldn't bring my bike into the room and had to use a garage a few minutes away. That's usually not a big deal, except when your shoes are full of water.

This hotel isn't motorcycle-friendly. They said motorcycle parking was free, but apparently only if you book directly. They wouldn't tell me where it was until they had my passport, so they could charge me. The staff were very rude and acted as if they didn't understand English, German, or even the word parking, which is oddly the same in Spanish. Then suddenly they could understand. I was using an audio translator with my hearing aids, and they understood exactly what I was saying. The rooms are dated and felt like staying in the 1970s.
