Hotel Castieru

We accidentally parked in front of the hotel and stayed in the car for 10 minutes while I looked after my baby. A grumpy man told my husband, in a threatening way, that this wasn’t a place to park if we were going to stay much longer. Apparently he might vandalize your car if you leave it there. Locals say he’s very rude and mean, and that his two sons are even worse. The rooms and restaurant were dirty too. I hope someone reports them for vandalizing cars. There’s no sign saying the spot is hotel property, and vandalizing cars isn’t acceptable. It’s a disgrace.

We went to the restaurant for lunch last week. An older gentleman said we’d be eating outside on the terrace within half an hour at most. After waiting an hour and a half, we asked a man who seemed to be the waiter if they were going to serve us. He shouted rudely that in his own house he served whoever he wanted. In the end, he told us to leave, so we didn’t get to eat. Terrible service and awful manners. We wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

That old table football gives the place a retro feel. We stopped for lunch and had the homemade menu, two main courses and dessert. Nothing fancy, but it was good. The place is quite old yet clean, and the staff were rather blunt, with little explanation or attention. At €20 (2024), the menu felt a bit expensive for what it was. Parking is limited, especially when the bar or restaurant is busy.

We were charged €20 each, and I should have asked about the prices first. We came expecting decent food at a reasonable cost, but weren't allowed into the dining room and were served in the bar instead. Later, it seemed to me that regular customers, probably employees, were seated in the dining room and got a different price. I wouldn't recommend this place. We left disappointed.
