We have video and audio of the noise, and our stay at Bow Homes was a complete disaster. The neighboring building was being demolished and rebuilt, with loud banging, drilling, and shouting from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. We couldn’t sleep past 0730, and spending the day in the apartment was out of the question. A supposed relaxing vacation became unbearable. The owners, Bow Homes by Como en Casa, clearly knew about the work: the neighboring building was covered in scaffolding. Still, they rented the apartment to us at full price without warning us. When we complained, they apologized, which we appreciated, then offered only a 20% refund. We asked for 50% because our stay had been utterly disrupted, but they refused, saying a larger refund would make their business “unsustainable.” They also suggested we cancel and find somewhere else, which is hardly practical once you’re settled in a foreign city. Their messages showed little regard for guests. They said warning future customers about the noise would be “bad for business,” putting profit ahead of transparency and customer satisfaction. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience; it fundamentally affected whether the accommodation could be used and enjoyed as a peaceful, comfortable stay. Future guests deserve to know what they’re walking into. A warning to anyone considering it: expect extremely loud construction next door from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and to be woken early. It’s difficult, if not impossible, to spend time in the apartment during the day. The owners know about the issue but have said they won’t tell future customers, and they won’t offer adequate compensation for the disruption. If you want peace and quiet on vacation, look elsewhere. 1 out of 10 stars.
The service alone could fill an essay. The team have been exceptional, efficient, flexible, and thoughtful, and Bow Homes is something Vigo can be proud of. We stayed on the fourth floor, in a peaceful, restorative room with five skylights. There was no sea view, but we preferred fresh air to air conditioning, and the skylights let us enjoy Vigo’s quickly changing weather and check the skies before heading out after long summer days exploring. Thanks for such a lovely stay. I hope to come back, both to this beautiful place and to see some new friends we made along the way.
The service was great. My WhatsApp messages always got a prompt, courteous reply. The location was convenient too: the apartment faces the ocean, shops and cafes are close by, and there’s a bus stop and taxi stand right outside. Taxis are usually waiting there, except late at night and early in the morning. I had the first-floor apartment, and it was fantastic. It was very spacious, even by North American standards, with very high ceilings. The place had been newly renovated with tasteful, modern decor, and the exposed stone walls suited the building’s architecture. It was clean and thoughtfully equipped: dish soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, a sponge, tablecloth, cooking utensils, plates, cups, wine glasses, and even a clothes-drying rack. They also provided a small carton of milk, a large bottle of water, soft drinks, tea bags, coffee, and little packets of salt and olive oil, which was beyond my expectations.
A quiet, well-located place with a comfortable bed and a nice seating area. The modern apartments are well designed and impeccably clean, and they’re very well equipped, including a small hob, coffee machine, iron, and washer dryer. The staff were friendly and very helpful, answering our queries almost immediately. It had all we needed to feel at home away from home.
Gostei do espaço acolhedor e bem iluminado, e foi prático não precisar de chaves para entrar no prédio ou no apartamento. A cozinha tinha utensílios para cozinhar, mas faltaram líquidos de limpeza, já que não fizeram a limpeza do apartamento. Para estacionar, só havia parques pagos ou a opção de arriscar deixar o carro na rua, que me pareceu um pouco perigosa. Deixei o meu carro estacionado lá durante a noite e, de manhã, encontrei o para-choques estragado. Mesmo assim, é um local a repetir.
