Breakfast was one of the worst parts of the stay. At 10:30 on the dot, staff started clearing the food quickly, switching off the coffee machines and turning out the lights, even with people still eating. Several guests complained, and it felt rushed and disrespectful. The staff were rude, careless and unwelcoming throughout, leaving the atmosphere uncomfortable. To me, the hotel feels like a tourist trap and doesn’t offer the quality or service you’d expect. Don’t be taken in by its location or appearance. The room was spacious, one of the few positives, but the bathroom was poorly designed. A longer shower sent water out into the room, which was uncomfortable and could be unsafe. The property itself is clearly old. Its attempts at a modern look seem tacky and poorly done, with superficial changes that don’t hide how worn and dated it feels. Things had already started badly before I arrived. An app error created three bookings by mistake, so I contacted Hotel Bahía de Vigo right away and asked them to cancel two. They wouldn’t help and didn’t reply to my messages, despite my clear explanation. I had to pursue the issue through Booking.com customer service. That lack of cooperation and courtesy made a very poor first impression, and the stay didn’t improve from there.

The sea view was nice, the location was great, the rooms were clean, and I had no issue with the service. But sleeping here was miserable. For a 4-star hotel, the lack of basic sound insulation is ridiculous. Twice, on separate nights, I woke to people throwing up in their rooms, and it sounded like they were right beside me. Hallway noise was even worse when guests stayed up late and went in and out. I spent four nights there and got only one decent night’s sleep, and I’m not even a light sleeper.

The room was clean and the location was good, but we booked a Superior Room for 3 through Booking.com and were given a smaller room for 2. When we raised it, they said only the smaller room was available and charged us the same, saying Booking.com had never paid them. I’d avoid this place.

The location works really well for the old town and the harbour trips to Cíes Island, which is stunning and well worth recommending. The hotel is very old, and you can tell in the rooms. They’re clean and spacious, but definitely aged.

Really lovely experience. The night and day reception ladies both went out of their way to help us, and one even called to book our next hotel. The service was outstanding.
