Hotel del Mar

I had a really good stay and don’t agree with a lot of the negative reviews. They let me check in early after I’d been walking in the rain all day, and the room was clean and pleasant. I couldn’t get the TV to work, but I wasn’t bothered by noise. I didn’t eat at the cafe downstairs, though the staff seemed really nice. Great location and fair price, no complaints.

The view from our room was of the ventilation and AC system, so it wasn’t very nice. Three of us stayed, and the room was a good size, as was the bathroom. Housekeeping cleaned every day without fail, and the staff were very friendly. The location was decent, with the sea, parks, statues, restaurants, cafes, and stores nearby. Public transport was close too, which was convenient. Decent value for money.

The location is beautiful, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had plenty of space and felt comfortable and cozy for the price. The bathroom was clean and worked well, with strong pressure, very hot water, and a decent bathtub, though the pink tiling looked dated. They only supplied bath gel/shampoo, so bring conditioner if you need it. Breakfast costs extra; we skipped it, and what we saw looked average. The complimentary coffee was disappointing, but there are lots of nearby cafes with great coffee at low prices.

The rooms themselves were fine, but sleep was hard to come by. At least on Friday, a nearby bar played very loud music and drew noisy crowds until 2:30AM. If you need a quiet night, stay somewhere else.
