For €28-30 a night, the best I can say is there were no bedbugs. This is not really a hostel, just an office building turned into a money-making scheme. There are thin walls, creaky bunks, beeping automated locks, coldish water and no drinking water station, kitchen or common area. The water’s too cold for a shower in winter, but too warm to drink. There’s no reception or staff at the location, apart from a friendly cleaner in the morning around checkout. Check-in is online, and the lock codes arrive a little later. You share rooms with strangers, with no staff or security, which feels unsafe for solo travelers. They do allow late arrivals, which is helpful if you’re the one arriving late, but disruptive for everyone else. You can hear people coming in from anywhere in the building through the vents and thin walls. It’s either too hot without air, and you can’t open a window even if your cubicle, uh, room, has one, or there’s loud air conditioning. You don’t get to choose. Nighttime arrivals can walk into your room while you’re there. The hotline person was helpful, thank you, but there’s still nobody on site. There is an elevator, but it needs a code that you only get if you pay for car parking, so otherwise you carry your luggage up the stairs. The building is in a somewhat dodgy part of town, though that part was OK.

This place feels like someone bought an office building and made the cheapest possible hostel out of it. The bunk beds are cheap, the little cabinets don’t have locks, and the group showers are basically stalls with a button that sends cold but bearable water out of the wall. There are no hooks or other basic things for hygiene. The digital door locks beep loudly every time you press a button, and late check-ins happen often. Every door shuts by itself with such a bang that the keypad beeps become the least of the noise. The office walls are thin, and kids upstairs were running around and throwing themselves about until after midnight. Online check-in sends you through a sketchy side entrance. There are no lights on, no reception, just empty corridors and no sense of security. Maybe it’s not some masterclass in capitalism after all, just straight-up sadistic. It’s hard to believe all of this is messed up by accident. Even a group of six men who don’t care about safety or hygiene could do better. If you’re a woman traveling alone, honestly, you’d be better off lying down behind the next bush. I really can’t hate this place enough. Here’s a fun thing to do if you end up there anyway: write a negative review on Maps while you’re frustrated, since you have to wait until checkout the next day to post one on booking dot com too. I’m not kidding. I did that days ago, my phone ran out of battery, and the whole review disappeared. Now I’ve retyped it because I want to hate on this place that much.

The heat made it impossible to get a decent night’s sleep. We messaged the hotel on WhatsApp and were told the air conditioning runs from 18:15 until midnight, but with no windows, fans, or other air circulation, the room stayed far too hot. I barely slept, and nobody in our group rested well. We’d picked this place because we couldn’t find an available hotel within a mile of the airport; it was about a 15-minute drive away. Arriving around midnight, we found the entrance and first flight of stairs completely dark. We couldn’t see the elevator, so we hauled our large suitcases up ourselves. The sheets were left folded for us to make our own beds, and while setting up all six, I found lots of hairs. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The beds were comfortable, and I appreciated being able to book and check in late. The host also replied on WhatsApp. Still, the basic setup needs a lot of work. The access codes never came through, so I had to contact the host late at night to get them. There was no working light in the entrance, and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut or lock. The rooms had no air circulation, there was no drinking water in the building, and the shower water was barely lukewarm. These are simple essentials, and they weren’t handled well.

I booked a private room, and it was clean, including the bathroom. The room was nice and had full central air conditioning. It works well for a night or two. My ratings are for the private rooms and bathroom.
