We’d planned to spend a week in La Pineda before heading to Barcelona, but the studio was so nice that we stayed there for the full two weeks instead. It’s bright, roomy, clean, and well equipped, with enough space for a family with two kids. The sea is just across the road, and there’s a grocery store and a bus stop a block away. Free parking, too. Management was helpful and efficient, and ready to sort out any problem.

The coastal path is right nearby, great for walks and finding lovely places along the shore. We also loved being just steps from Playa dels Capellans, with restaurants close by and the convenience of walking straight to the beach. The apartment was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed for a family trip, and the staff were really friendly. We had spectacular sea views from Turistmar. We’ll definitely come back!

The apartment was beautiful, very clean, and had all the comforts we needed. Fans in the bedrooms might help, since we couldn’t open the windows at night. Shops, bars, restaurants, the beach, and amusement parks are all nearby, which brings lots of people and some noise. Salou is a party town, with young people having fun all night, so you need to like crowds. Getting in touch with the Turismar agency was quick and easy.

This is about the Turismar apartment in Bahia II. We were very disappointed, and I’d say avoid this unit. It’s outdated and in poor shape, and absolutely not worth the price. The apartment was dirty when we arrived. The fridge-freezer broke, leaving us without a proper fridge for three days. We lost €100 worth of food, and were given a loaner fridge after those three days. The boiler also had a hot water problem. The wiring is substandard, with no grounding, and my husband was slightly electrocuted. He still remembers it. The kitchen smells awful, and even a little heat makes the whole apartment warm, so you have to keep the kitchen door shut while cooking. The cooktop has a burner you can’t use because its knob is missing. The hood is missing a lightbulb cover, the toilet is broken and has been repaired, and the showerhead is positioned oddly. The bathtub shower was barely wide enough for a size 39 foot. The air conditioning is only in the dining room, not the bedrooms, and it can’t cool the whole apartment. Its refrigerant tank needs emptying once or twice a day. We didn’t take pictures of the garage ramp or the dirty dishes, but the photos show the rest: the hood, outlet, loaner fridge, food we had to throw away, and other problems. The terrace is visible from the bedroom. The residence itself is well located and has a sea view, but the beach is crowded and noisy, with zodiac boats constantly passing for activities like banana boat rides. You need to reserve your place on the beach by 10:00 AM. Getting groceries means walking over 1 km, with lots of stairs and some steep slopes. The walk to the beach is similar, and even leaving the residence involves the elevator plus stairs, with no other option. It is absolutely unsuitable for people with reduced mobility. The underground parking is very difficult to access, with a steep ramp that’s especially hard to drive up at level -2. Pool access is through the underground garage, which is odd. Sound carries throughout the residence, from nearby neighbors and common areas, and the apartment’s interior walls are very thin. This is an aging residence from the 1970s. The Turismar apartment seems unchanged since then, apart from redone plumbing that still shows traces of the old system and gives it a budget-apartment feel. The residence, also called Bahia, gets two stars from me for the view and the averagely maintained pool, and that’s it. Other providers’ accommodation looks at least better maintained and more modern. Salou has plenty of more modern, better located places to stay. I found Cambrils and Miami Platja much more pleasant to live in than Salou, with its streets full of restaurants and touts every few steps.

Yolanda managed everything brilliantly and was friendly and professional throughout. The location was excellent.
