Budiño de Serraseca

The hosts were wonderful. The owner took us into town for dinner at a great place, then came back a couple of hours later to pick us up. When I spotted him at the bar, he told us to take our time and just let him know when we wanted to leave. Breakfast the next morning was spectacular, and we couldn't finish it all, though we both managed to finish the homemade cake. The guest house is lovely, with large, comfortable rooms, nice bathrooms, and a beautiful sitting room. Highly recommend.

We usually rent the apartment when we come with our young child, and it's very well equipped. Our small dog loves the property too. We also love the breakfast. The land, buildings, and indoor spaces are stunning, and everything is clean and comfortable, from the beds and bedding to the furniture. We've stayed several times and always had a wonderful time. We brought visiting family here, and they loved their stay as well. The owners are kind, friendly, and helpful. My family reminded me to leave a review before I forgot. Highly recommend it for a getaway or for people walking the camino.

The grounds were a peaceful highlight, with Mama and baby donkeys grazing and keeping the lawn trimmed, plus geraniums, citrus trees, and grapevines. Being away from the main highway made it easy to hear birds, and the nearby stream was soothing at night. Inside, the common room felt comfortable and had a well-stocked fridge and a library with books about local wildlife and children's books. The guest rooms were spotless, with blue-painted windows and doors, and little touches like detailed metal room numbers and handmade leather keychains with the bird logo. The stone exterior is lovely too. Breakfast was wonderful: fresh orange juice, excellent coffee, home-baked cake with orange zest and olive oil, toast, strawberries, butter, jam, cheese, marmalade, and delicious honey. The husband and wife hosts were thoughtful and welcoming. They arranged dinner at a nearby restaurant and drove us there, then one of them took me to another hotel so I could collect my luggage on time. Budino de Serrascera is a lovely place to stay along the Camino, and I hope to return. It's set in the hills of Oia, Spain, along the Camino, and felt like an oasis after a day of travel. The care put into the place really shows.
