The staff were wonderful and very helpful throughout my stay. From the ocean-facing room and patio, the view was incredible, especially at sunrise. It’s a lovely base for exploring the area. The restaurant was really good, though I’d have liked the menu to change more often. You can see into the room when someone walks past, but I didn’t find that intrusive.

Walking routes into the pine forests are only minutes away, and you’ll find traditional places to eat in the village as well as a restaurant at the hotel. Just be ready for some steep streets on the walk back. We like staying in the mountains rather than the resorts when we visit Tenerife, and this lovely hotel had everything we wanted: friendly staff, a quiet room with a view over the village, and a great mountain setting.

A lovely, tidy hotel with spacious rooms, and a great place to stay for hiking. Breakfast was okay, though there were no pancakes. My main criticism is that the rooms don’t have air conditioning. 4.5/5.

The food was so good that we couldn’t wait for the next evening to try another dish. You really should eat at the restaurant, the chef makes wonderful meals. Cotty deserves a special thank you for her help and advice, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel Alta Montana sits in a perfect mountain location, with breathtaking views. Our standard double room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and the internet worked well throughout the hotel. It’s a great starting point for hikes and close to Mount Teide, which is a must-see. We only wish we’d stayed longer and would happily come back. Muchas gracias a todas en el hotel alta montana!
