Hotel Rural Vilaflor

The mountain location is quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views. Shops, cafés and restaurants are just across the street. There’s a big shared balcony upstairs for drying clothes or sunbathing, a nice grapevine-covered terrace downstairs, and an indoor space with a microwave and coffee and tea facilities. This is a good option for hikers who don’t need luxury and want a more authentic Tenerife stay. Hotel Rural Vilaflor feels more like a hostel than a hotel, but it was in much better shape than other places we stayed on Tenerife and clearly well cared for. It’s a two-star property, and has the essentials. Our room was cold at first, but a portable radiator and very warm blankets made it comfortable. Rooms are spread over two floors and share bathrooms, which were clean and functional. A hair dryer was provided. We were satisfied with our stay :)

The rooms are pretty, quirky and spacious, and there’s a pleasant shared space where you can have coffee and chat. It was a little cold, so I was surprised there was no heating. The different levels and uneven floors also make the place unsuitable for elderly people.

The room was beautiful, and the location was great. They also have some interesting spa offers at their main hotel on the downside of the city.

The room was reasonably clean and the location is very convenient for Teide and nearby areas. The price and quality were decent. But the room and shared spaces were cold, and the shower water was ice cold. The owners’ response was to wait 30 minutes. I was also told there would be a welcome glass of wine, but it was nowhere to be found.
