Casa Xan de Pena

We only had one night at Casa Xan da Pena, but it left us with such a lovely impression. It’s incredibly peaceful, with birdsong as the only sound, and everything was spotless. The beds were so comfortable, just right for relaxing and switching off. Elena was warm, attentive, and friendly from the moment we arrived, and made us feel at home. The house is surrounded by nature but very close to Miño. A short, perfect stay. We’ll be back!

It’s a quiet house, though the two dogs can bark quite a bit. The room felt small, and the entrance is very narrow. Breakfast was rather sparse, although they do serve homemade jams.

The homemade breakfast was delicious, and Elena took great care with my gluten and fruit allergies, offering options and being very knowledgeable. There’s parking too. She was also happy to share lots about places to visit and the interesting history of the house. We stayed for five days and felt completely at home. Elena, the owner, is kind, attentive, chatty, and respectful. The house and room were very clean, and it’s wonderfully quiet, surrounded by nature, a welcome break from city and work stress. Elena really goes out of her way to make guests feel comfortable. The house is beautiful and welcoming, with lots of thoughtful touches. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was fantastic, especially the homemade jams. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
