Hotel Servigroup Montíboli

The noise from the room above us ended up taking a lot of the pleasure out of our five days here. We kept hearing furniture dragged around, things dropped, chairs scraped, and heavy footsteps, day and night. I reported it to reception twice, but nothing changed. As I write this on the last day, I’m looking forward to getting home and finally sleeping properly. It’s a shame, because the location is stunning, the service was excellent, and everything was impeccably clean. We were given a beautiful Sirius-Torres room with a breathtaking view, a spacious balcony, and comfortable sunbeds. At first glance, it seemed perfect, and the hotel has everything for a great getaway, but there wasn’t enough noise control.

The food options were a letdown. We relied on the hotel restaurants because of the secluded location, and the prices were steep. We tried the slightly cheaper Bar, but its menu had only about five hot dishes and a few salads, with no vegetarian choices. The food was mediocre, below what I’d expect from a 5-star hotel, and the service hours were limited. We also found the male guests’ lingering stares at the nudist beach uncomfortable, though we have no issue with the beach itself. The gender balance seemed more even during the day. Still, the setting is stunning, among the most beautiful landscapes in southern Europe. The rooms are spacious, the staff friendly, and the equipment modern. The sea and mountain views are amazing, and the marble throughout the decor and design feels thoughtful and tasteful. It’s a quiet retreat away from major tourist centers, though getting there by public transport means a 25-minute walk from the tram station.

We’ve already booked to come back next year. This hotel was outstanding, five stars all the way.

Everything worked well here, from the room and facilities to the restaurant, service, and staff. A great place all around.
