Casa Rural Bonestar wasn’t on my itinerary before I arrived in Spain, but I’m glad I stopped. It has the feel of a classic inn, set in a beautiful stretch of woods and mountains. There’s ample parking, and inside there’s a welcoming room for food and drink. The hostess makes delicious food, and you’ll probably find more locals than visitors there, which is no bad thing. The room is simple and the facilities are good. The countryside alone gives you a reason to stay. I didn’t bring children or dogs, but I’d guess both would be welcome and have plenty of room to play. If you’re driving in from the west, go during daylight. The scenery is too lovely to miss, and at times you might wonder, “Is this really a road?”.

We had a great time exploring the pretty surroundings on foot, and we'd like to come back to see more. The hotel was a good base for four of us during stage 7 of the 2021 Vuelta a España. Everyone there treated us really well. Breakfast came with the room and was a basic Spanish desayuno. Lunch and dinner had the same menu unless you wanted bocadillos, but there were plenty of choices, so we got to try lots of dishes. The food was first rate, and the wine list was pretty good too.

Chelo, the owner, was attentive and helpful, and our dog was welcomed like part of the family. The area is lovely, with a relaxing atmosphere on the days we were there. We could take our time at breakfast, and dinner was wonderful. Just be aware they hold a race on May 1st, so April 30th may not be a good choice if you want a quiet morning. The food was amazing.

Really friendly staff, and the coffee and beer were nice. I said I'd try the food next time, and I did come back. The paella was the best, made by an award winning chef. 10/10 😀

I haven't stayed here, but the local beer is good and cold, and the food is lovely and reasonably priced. The Wi-Fi is extremely slow, and it's very hit and miss whether it's available.
