Casa de los Deseos

The host opened early for us, which we really appreciated. Our room was clean and had everything we wanted, and dinner with the local wine and digestif was delicious. The host was so kind, and we had a lovely time. We’d happily stay here again!

The room had a nice view, but it seemed like the place was new and still unfinished. There are no curtains, and the windows are low enough that people outside can see in. We could hear everything from other rooms, including a loud cistern filling when someone next door used the toilet. The floor was freezing, the room was cold, the lights blinked and felt harsh, and there was no key for the room. There’s no TV, and WiFi only worked downstairs, not in the upstairs rooms. Cigarette smoke came into our room when people went outside the bar and restaurant to smoke. The restaurant felt like a cafeteria. The owner was nice, though she only speaks Spanish, which felt a little strange for a hotel.

The owner was very attentive and made sure we had what we needed. A great place to spend the night if you’re walking the Camino de Santiago.

We booked at the last minute and were surprised by this hidden gem. Lorina was incredibly helpful, the service was amazing, and the food was fantastic. Our room was clean and had a private shower. Even during our short one-night stay, she got a load of laundry done for us. A great place to take a night off and relax on the Camino.
